My role as a leader here sure has it’s benefits. Yeah, there’s probably a grip of people out there that see me as an asshole, but I do what I have to do when I need to. Today, a kid walked up to me when I was just talking to a friend in his room. “Thank you so much man, I kind of love you right now.” I laughed, and asked what was up. He thanked me for taking him off his details that he has to do around is dorm. “You don’t understand, I don’t have to be back til 9:45 tomorrow night! That’s the first time this has happened since I got my car out here.” I told him no problem, and he went off on his way. I didn’t really realize how much that meant to him til I thought about what he said. 9:45 man. We value our time so much here. So much that everyone else takes for granted, can really make someone’s day here. The fact that being a leader here, and knowing that I can affect people in that way, is such a good feeling. As long as my days are here, as much work as I do, I’m really glad to be where I am right now. Cheers.
